Basic First Hour Building Guide
This is a VERY basic building guide for the person who just wants to get started. It does not incorporate any specific strategies. If you are interested in learning more about strategies, look at the Character Specific Section of the Atlas. 1) The first thing you want to do is train your characters. They gain experience by using them or by training them. You can only use them in newbie mode if you have monsters to hit and you can only hit if you have at least 10 units of military to send with the character. You won’t have military built at the very beginning so the first thing you want to do is go to your Characters link and click on the link under each character to train that specific character. You have the option to train your character for 10 hours (the cheaper one) for one level or 24 hours for two levels. Once you click on the link showing how much you wanted to spend on training them, you will see that the character is now lagged for 10 or 24 hours and cannot be used again until that amount of time has lapsed. 2) Go to the Land link on the left navigation menu. Click on “explore max”. This will start building some of your land. 3) Go to the Buildings link on the left navigation menu. Put a majority of your land into mines to help boost your income right from the start. I normally put 80% of my land in mines right away. Then put a small amount in spy towers and thieves’ dens if you are going to be robbing people out of newbie mode. You should be good on houses, lumber, and food for a few days. 4) Skip the Arkane link for now. You won’t have enough Arkane points to do anything in there anyway for a few hours at least. 5) Click on the Military link within the left navigation menu. Build about 100 of your cheapest military units so that you will be able to start attacking monsters in 10 or 12 hours (whichever training you did for your characters). Throw all the rest into Scholars so that you can start boosting your researching. MOST people build nothing but scholars for the first few days and then when the clock shows 48 hours left in newbie mode, they start pumping out the military. There you go! You have all your precious moola spent and now you have time to meet your new coven/clanmates and read this Atlas for more details and tips!! =)
