Dooms ~ “Make sure you attack Monsters early on to gain as many magic items as possible. You are able to attack in Newbie Mode, so attacking the monsters will give you free levels instead of spending your gold to train your characters.”

Mystik ~ “Choose your strategy before you choose your land type and race... then combine the two with your strategy in mind!”

Kai ~ “Check your "my economy" page often to make sure you aren't losing resources quickly. If you don't pay attention to your resources, you could very quickly find yourself in a world of pain.”

Dooms ~ "Do whatever Lissa says, or else!!"

Solace ~ “If you are being Kill Targeted, raze your buildings!! Your enemies cannot bog land that isn’t built upon which will make that spell worthless in a war!”

Tarana ~ “Cast spells as often as possible. Making sure first if you are casting hostile spells the receiver is willing to accept them. Use at least one spell castor for attacking. They become unlagged from attacks sooner than do from spells most of the time so you can actually gain experience faster using them to attack and not just casting and receiving spells.”

Anonymous ~ “Grab your research bonus ASAP.”

Mystik ~ “If your creating a group, make sure there's some diversity so you can use the full range of helpful spells.”

Solace ~ You, at times, will hear about defense per acre (DPA). There is nothing that has been determined as far as what is a good DPA in LoT. A good way to see where you stand compared to others is to spy on people around your size to see how they are defense-wise.

Kai ~ Defense per acre (dpa) can be found by taking your total def (shown in the military status page) divided by the amount of land that you have. Of course you might not know what other people who are larger than you have, so as a guideline, and only as a guideline, you can take the NW divided by land. That is called land to networth ratio, and while it isn't as accurate at dpa, it can still help you get a feel.

Mystik ~ “Cast your short lag spells when you plan to be on more, and your longer lag spells when you know you'll be gone to work or school for longer periods of time.”

Solace ~ “If you’re playing Magi or Feudal, get your Gems as soon as you can. They will give you extra income that can be especially useful and powerful in the beginning of the game. As soon as your characters get over level 25, start to use Alchemy.”

Tarana ~ “Always keep at least some characters home for defense. Do not rob anyone player too many times or you may piss them off. Do not hit any one player to many times....this can get you killed.”

Solace ~ “Keep a close eye on your “My Economy” page. You wouldn’t believe how fast your economy can change… within a day you could have negative food and be close to zero population which would mean you couldn’t train military!!”

Mystik ~ “Orb of Recall can be used to make HUGE hits and bring your troops back right after so you’re no longer open!”

BiC ~ “Don't make failed hits for experience. They are worthless and do absolutely nothing for you. Successful hits yield the optimum experience. The only exception to this is early on in the game. But once you don't even gain 1/10th of a level of experience, that is when you stop doing failed hits. Also, hit monsters while in newbie mode.”

Tarana ~ “Be active. If you are not active you will not keep up with other players and most likely will soon find yourself under defended compared to the rest of the game. If you do not want to lose your money spend it”

Kai ~ “Mines provide a steady income that can be relied on, and they leave very little to chance (versus the taxes income which leaves a lot to chance.) Mines also provide you with gold and iron, making some units ideal to purchase. The mining strat is not easily picked apart and can be relied on in almost any situation, and is especially recommended for new players and kingdoms using mountainous terrain.”

Mystik ~ “Stay in a clan so you can see the monsters! Even if it's a one coven clan!”

Tarana ~ “Remember being polite when dealing with others costs you nothing while being rude will often lose their respect and cause them to be unwilling to listen to you.”

Spaz ~ “Make sure no matter what group you are to try and have 1000 scientists out of the gate.”

Mystik ~ “Don't hit a kingdom two or more times within days.”

Tarana ~ “Do not be afraid to ask questions if you are unsure about something. I or one of your friends will answer to the best of our ability.”

Solace ~ “During newbie mode, always train your characters at 10 hours for 1 level at a time. If you choose 2 levels right away, that’s 24 hours. You can gain levels a lot faster just logging on 10 hours later and training for another level at that time.”

Kai ~ “Using taxes for income can potentially get you more than twice as much income per house than mines will give you, but it is also a very delicate way to play the game, and in order for the extreme benefits over mining you need a lot of luck. A kingdom that relies on taxes for income has to be very active and very aware of every move they make.”

Solace ~ “While you should concentrate on scholars the first few days of newbie mode (after training characters, building, and buying land)… it is helpful to train at least 50-60 cheap military units right away. You cannot send a character out on an attack without 10 military units joining it and Monsters usually start appearing after 12 hours into newbie mode. You’ll want at least 10 military units per character so that you can hit them when they show. They will give you free levels!!!”

Mystik ~ “Send messages before any confusion sets in. Be respectful when sending messages unless you want to become a kt.”

Anonymous ~ “All players should take a good look at their arkane tree... do NOT take everything as soon as it is available...take the best route through the tree to your characters. Get them up first so they can gain experience. You can go back and get the other researchable things later.”

Solace ~ “When you’re in Newbie mode, your income will not be very high. It’s beneficial to wait until 3:00 to take your Gold goodie as its 3 hours worth of gold. As you’re growing, you start gaining a higher income… so waiting until a later time to take that goodie will mean more Gold for you! Just don’t forget to take all your goodies by 3:59pm CST every day or you lose those goodies!!”

BiC ~ “You should take a good look at your tree. Some people say go for the things that will best help your kingdom, and get characters. I say go for characters and the most expensive multiplier nodes. Land nodes will be expensive in the end, but not nearly as expensive as the multiplier ones. You should also invest heavily in research to get your research done. You definitely want to get all your characters asap so that you can start to level them all.”

Spaz ~ “Do not identify magic items till you have 7500-10000 scholars.”

Mystik ~ “Get rid of inactives so the monsters have a better chance of hitting active kingdoms.”

Anonymous ~ “Give priority to X Land things. Those are only gonna get more expensive as the game goes on.”[in reference to research]

Mystik ~ “Don't double possess anyone when using regular possession. Don't use Open Gate unless the receiving person has ok'd it or it's on a KT.”

Kai ~ “Acquire your land based nodes on your arkane tree as soon as you can. As you become bigger, those nodes will be harder to obtain.”

Solace ~ “You get further with honey. Be nice to others in the game and they’re NORMALLY respond in kind. If you message them with hostility, you will receive a hostile message back.”

Mystik ~ “Talk to everyone like they were your grandma! You wouldn't talk ugly to her would you?”

Many times small misunderstandings lead to war simply because it was not brought to the attention of those who could handle the situation until after it has blown out of control.”
