The Unwritten Rules
As in any game, there are some unwritten rules or certain things that are sure to tick a few people off. Follow these or not… it’s completely your choice. I will post them in this guide just so that you know the expectations of most people and how to keep out of trouble or get into trouble if that’s your cup of tea. ;)
Possessions – It is common acceptance that a necro can cast 1 successful possession to make an attack. They are the ones that have to do the attacking though. If you cast a possession for your coven mate to hit… that will cause trouble. It is looked upon as gangbanging. Your offensive spells are to be used for your benefit, except for war time.
Other Offensive Spells – Same as possession, it is acceptable to do an offensive spell for the benefit of attacking. If you do an offensive spell, like Open Gate or Sleep, and then your covenmate or friend does the hit, that can be looked at as gangbanging by some people/clans.
Attacking – It is VERY shady to attack a kingdom more than once every 4 days. If you can see the attack on that kingdom in your coven news, then it’s too soon to attack that kingdom again. Also, when hitting, do not double hit. The exception to this: if they left themselves wide open, are a KT, or they suicided. Another thing that is looked down on is attacking a kingdom the same day that your covenmate attacks them. It’s looked at as gangbanging.
Thieving – When robbing someone, try not to rob them more than 5 times successfully in one day. If you rob more than that, CONSISTENTLY, people tend to get upset and take retaliatory action.
Someone already possessed – When you spy on someone’s military, always keep an eye on their military. If you see exactly 1% of each of their military unit types out with 1 character… that means they were possessed. Look at their SOR and you can normally get an idea if they were already possessed and hit. If you hit while they were possessed/hit by another kingdom… you may run into trouble with people thinking you gangbanged.
Suiciding – If you suicide, it’s your hiney. Don’t get mad if people possess your final two characters or cast spells/attack you. You basically decided your kingdom wasn’t worth much to you by sending far too much out. Don’t complain about it.
If you DO suicide, there are a few penalties to be aware of which were designed to discourage you from doing it. SO DON’T DO IT! =P
Penalty #1 – Making a suicide attack will give you zero experience. This is when you send more than 60% of your defensive points off base. The battle calc will force you to check a box allowing you to go suicidal.
Penalty #2 – If you have less than 1/3 defense points for characters and military home, you get 1/3 experience gain for defense.
Bashing -- Attacking a kingdom less than 1/3 your size is considered bashing… the game warns you in big red letters when you are on that kingdoms information page. You will receive less land/experience as well if you proceed with the hit. Even though the benefits of bashing are very slim and act as a deterrent, you may receive punishment from the defending clan. Bashing is never accepted.
