By the end of Newbie Mode, you should have a good general idea of how LoT works and a general idea on how to build a kingdom. Now comes the fun part!! You are leaving Protection!!

Once you are out of protection mode, aka Newbie Mode, you can start spying, thieving, spelling, and attacking others. Use your Covenmates and this guide to assist you in doing your first attacks and spell attempts. Most people in the game are very nice and want you to understand the game… so you will normally receive a good response when you ask for help. If not, come find Kai, Dooms, or Solace in the Public Forums. We’ll help you out! It’s important to remember that this game, while growing, still has a smaller player base. The chances of getting attacked or spelled can happen often. Do not get mad!! Even if you get hit or spelled, you are still receiving experience and levels for your characters, so it isn’t a total loss!! This game is designed so that even if you aren’t a top player, you can still kick the crap out of bigger kingdom with your spells. If someone is picking on you, and you want revenge, talk to your Leader Dude. They can help you extract revenge or even find someone to attack the person back.

There are NO fair hits, there are no retals, and this is NOT SK. The reason why I mention SK in here is because we seem to attract a lot of old SK players. If you don’t know what SK is… that’s GREAT! Move along and don’t pay attention to this rant. If you are an old SKer… leave SK lingo and rules behind. This is a whole new community and a whole new game. We don’t want to adopt SK rules because that will take away from the individuality of this game. Geoff did an amazing job creating an atmosphere different from the rest… and we want to keep it that way!

Have fun with the game. Use your spells but don’t destroy another kingdom just because they caught you with your pants down. Respect the other players and make it a fun round for everyone!! At war time… kick the living crap out of your enemies and help your Clan be victorious (this is the best time to use those very damaging open gate and possession spells!!). If someone hits you and you want them to be hit back… find someone in the clan that may want to do a normal land grab for some juicy land.
