Magic Items

This page has been divided between regular "Magic Items" and "Artifacts. Artifacts can be found at the bottom of the page. Both lists are in alphabetical order.

When you receive magic items from the monsters, they always show up as “unidentified". You need to create a Scroll of Identity, via your Arkake Tree, in order to view what the items are. It takes 50,000 Arkane points to make a Scroll of Identity. When you use the Scroll of Identity, a list of the ID'd items appears so that you don't have to search through your list of items to find what the new ones are. Early on in the game it’s wise to wait until you’ve got a mini stockpile of items before identifying them, because the Arkane points can be better used elsewhere (such as getting extra characters & land x nodes out of the way). Some magic items need to be equipped to a character, for example the staves, armor and the fury potion. If you equip a magic item to a character, you cannot transfer that item to a coven member, nor sell that item.


Magic Items you may find in your adventures:

- Arkane Staff: (NA) Found on the arkane tree for nature, shaman, druid, magi, and feudal. Can not be obtained by fighting monsters -or- by stealing magic items. Gives +50% offense and +50% defense. You may only use one Arkane Staff per character. If the character already has an Arkane Staff, the game doesn’t allow you to equip the second one.

- Basher Shield: (Shield) This is an offensive shield for War Generals, Chieftans, Princes or Demons. It will affect the attack strength by 20% and defense by 5% for the character it is assigned to. Note: Basher Shield + Ring of Might will combine to produce an extra synergy effect of +5% attack.

- Basket of Thorns: (Basket) This is a 1 time use item which boosts the State of Readiness (SoR) +25%.

- Black-wax Candles: (Candles) Demon only. It boosts open-gate spells by 10%, a chance for a 6th round, and +50% max damage. 4 uses.

- Bone Armor: (Armor) This armor adds +40% defensive points and +10% offensive points to Necromancers only.

- Book of Irrigation: (Book) Gives +10% food production and +15% for plains. You may only read 3 of these books per round.

- Book of Tax Codes: (Book) Increases an Empire's tax rates by +10%, +15% for Feudal. You may only read 3 of these books per round.

- Bow of Shadows: (Bow) This weapon is for rogue classes only (hero, dark knight, or prince). It gives +50% attack, +5% defense, +10% experience from monsters, and +2% better chance of getting a magic item per roll.

- Burning Blood Potion: (Potion) Permanently boosts an Empire’s attack points by +5%. The potion is gone after it is used, but the effects of it stay. Human’s can not use this potion.

- Cecil’s Root: (Root) Boosts Healers effectiveness by 2%. Each root has 4 uses (which are all automatic). *note: Healers refer to Druids, Magi, and Shaman. A healer must be involved in the battle for this root to be used. Any characters that are off base will not benefit from it’s use*

- Chainmail: (Armor) Adds +10% offense and +15% defense to each character it’s assigned.

- Cloak of Deflection: (Garment) Only for Magi/Druid. It adds +10% offense and defense, and +5% spell resistance to the character that it’s equipped to. The order that you equip the Cloak of Thorns and Cloak of Deflection doesn’t matter, bonuses will apply properly.

- Cloak of Thorns: (Garment) Only for Druid/Magi/Shaman, adds +10% offense and 25% defense to the character in particular it’s assigned to. The order that you equip the Cloak of Thorns and Cloak of Deflection doesn’t matter, bonuses will apply properly.

- Conscription Scroll: (Scroll) This scroll is for Humans only. It decreases the cost of military & scholars by 20%, for 12 hours. *note: the best way to use this is to stockpile some gold before reading, allowing you to maximize the benefits of this scroll* 1 time use.

- Cornocopia: (Basket) This item is a 1 time use item which produces 500,000 - 1,000,000 food.

- Dispell Scroll: (Scroll) This scroll will remove a duration spell of your choice on your enemy, friend, or yourself… Whomever you choose to cast it on. It has a 75% success rate verses all duration spells except for Sphere. It has a 33% success rate against Sphere. There is a 10% chance at a cataclysmic dispell rolling against every duration spell. This means that if you have for example, invisibility and sphere on yourself and then your enemy casts fog… if you try to dispell the fog and you end up with a cataclysmic effect… you will lose your invisibility and sphere as well.

- Dragons Fire: (Ring) This ring provides +25% attack and +25% defense for Magi, Druid, and Shaman. It also boosts Gems, Alchemy, and Expansion spell effects by 20%.

- Dragonscales: (Armor) Chieftan’s only. It provides them with +15% offense & +50% defense and +25% experience from battles, for the Chieftan it’s assigned to.

- Farsight Ring: (Ring) Equippable by a Hero, Dark Knight, or Prince, and adds 50% of the character's level to spy and thief defense. Only one ring will work per Rogue class character.

- Fertility Wine: (Potion) 1 time use only. It increases population by +20% for a 24 hour duration.

- Fury Blade: (Blade) Equippable by any fighting class: War General, Hero, Prince, Dark Knight, etc. While equipped it adds 40% offensive points & 20% defense points to that character.

- Fury Potion: (Potion) 1 time use only. A War General, Prince, Chieftan, or Hero will temporarily gain 5 levels, a significant amount of offense, for 1 attack. After the attack the character returns to it’s normal state. You may only have one Fury Potion in use at a time.

- Gnarled Root: (Root) Staff for Shaman, which boosts the offense & defense by 15%. Also increases spell chances by 10%, increases experience by 10%, and increases the Shaman’s most powerful attack (Tornado) by 50%.

- Invisibility Potion: (Potion)1 time use only. Increases spying/thieving operations by +50%.

- Loki's Hut: (Leaning Hut)A 1 time use item, boosts crime rate for a non-human by 3-5%. (Maximum boost is 20%)

- Mimic Eye: (Eye) Works Automatically. Detects 10% of incoming spies/thieves. More than 1 ‘eye’ can be used at once, increasing your chances of detecting who’s spied/thieved. (i.e. 5 mimic eyes = +50% chance of catching the origin of a spy/theft event.)

- Mining Handbook: (Book) Will boost +10% mining permanently, +15% if you're hills or mountains. You may only read 3 of these books per round.

- Orb of Knowledge: (Smooth Rock) Once equipped to any caster, this item gives each caster +50% experience when casting a spell. Orbs of Knowledge are more powerful when around other Orbs. If you have 2 Orbs equipped, you will receive a 60% experience bonus, the cap is 3 Orbs which give a 70% bonus.

- Orb of Recall: (Smooth Rock) This one time use Orb allows you to recall 1 lagged character to a ready state. It does not matter what the lag is from or what the duration of the lag is.

- Ring of Courage: (Ring) Equippable by all fighter and rogue classes (War General , Chieftan, Hero, Dark Knight, and Princes) and cannot be used with the Ring of Might. This ring adds 7.5% to the character boost (i.e. War Generals get +2% per level, and the highest character’s boost is always used, so a level 40 War General is +80%. With the Ring of Courage it’d be 87.5%).

- Ring of Might: (Ring) Provides +15% attack and +10% defense for War Generals and Chieftans. This ring cannot be used with the Ring of Courage. Note: Basher Shield + Ring of Might will combine to produce an extra synergistic effect of +5% attack.

- Ring of Protection: (Ring) When equipped to a spell caster it gives a 10% bonus to that character's spell defense

- Scroll of Bog: (Scroll) This scroll destroys land (you can choose which buildings to destroy). It destroys the building AND the land the building was on. 5 uses.

- Scroll of Expansion: (Scroll) When read, this scroll adds land to your Empire (normally 50-100 acres per successful read). 5 uses.

- Scroll of Explosions: (Scroll) This scroll allows someone to cast explosions to destroy buildings (mainly mines). 4 uses. You have a 1 in 5 chance at getting a Cataclysm Effect with this spell. That means that that one-fifth of the time, this spell will do triple damage. It will display as "Cataclysm" in the news!

- Scroll of Firestorm: (Scroll) This scroll allows someone to cast firestorm to destroy buildings (targets random buildings, with a good deal of destruction). 4 uses. You have a 1 in 5 chance at getting a Cataclysm Effect with this spell. That means that that one-fifth of the time, this spell will do triple damage. It will display as "Cataclysm" in the news!

- Scroll of Lightning: (Scroll) This scroll allows someone to cast lightning to destroy buildings (mainly scout towers). 5 uses. You have a 1 in 5 chance at getting a Cataclysm Effect with this spell. That means that that one-fifth of the time, this spell will do triple damage. It will display as "Cataclysm" in the news!

- Scroll of Possession: (Scroll) This scroll allows you to attempt to possess an enemy’s character(s). *note: you can choose which character to try to possess*. 3 uses. If it’s a scroll of possession that was manufactured (a Necro created it from their Arkane page), then you will have 4 uses instead of 3!!

- Scroll of Rage: (Scroll) If successful, it boosts the Empire attack bonus by +20% (coven-only item). 4 uses.

- Scroll of Speed: (Scroll) If successful, it boosts the Empire speed bonus by +20% (coven-only item). 4 uses.

- Scroll of Tornado: (Scroll) This scroll casts tornado to destroy buildings (mainly homes). 6 uses. You have a 1 in 5 chance at getting a Cataclysm Effect with this spell. That means that that one-fifth of the time, this spell will do triple damage. It will display as "Cataclysm" in the news!

- Shard of Souls: (Crystal Rod) This weapon is for Necromancers only. It provides +40% attack, +20% defense, and +5% spell resistance.

- Shield of Speed: (Shield) This is a shield for War Generals, Chieftans, Princes, and Demons. It boosts attack strength by 10% and defense by 25%.

- Shraeker: (Blade) A three-bladed claw, for Demons only, which adds +25% offense & defense to the Demon equipping it.

- Staff of Fireballs: (Wood Stick) For the Druid/Magi spell casters only. Adds +35% offense and +10% defense, making it a very formidable weapon. You can not equip this to a character that has an Arkane Staff.

- Talisman of Power: (Talisman or Amulet) When equipped to a spell caster, provides +20% to spell success rate. (i.e. 80% success rate becomes 100% success rate).

- Tome of Skill: (Book) This Arkane book increases the reading characters experience, slightly more than 1 full level. You can use only 1 Tome per character, per round.

- Torches: (Candles) Torches can be lit by your watchmen to make it easier to spot enemy spies and thieves. Torches dropped by monsters will increase your spy/thief defense by 20% for 18 hours and crafted torches will help by 10% for 12 hours each, stackable to a maximum 20% bonus. Any class can craft torches given the proper supply of Wood and Arkane points.

- Treant’s Stone: (Smooth Rock) This item is a 1 time use and produces 250,000 - 500,000 lumber.

- Vien Rod: (Crystal Rod) This is a 1 time use item. When used it produces 250,000 - 500,000 gold, 100,000 - 200,000 iron, and 25,000 - 50,000 adamite.


Artifacts you may discover in Tercia:

- Ancient Conduit: (Statue) Casts 5 Lightnings with 24 hour lag and a 90% base success rate. You have a 1 in 3 chance at getting a Cataclysm Effect with this spell. That means that that one-third of the time, this spell will do triple damage. It will display as "Cataclysm" in the news!

- Bloodstone: (Smooth Rock) Casts 5 possession spells with 36 hour lag and a 90% base success rate.

- Bow of Blood: (Bow) This artifact gives +60% attack and +5% defense for rogue classes only. It also gives a +15% chance of assassination and cuts lag for assassination attempts from 2 hours to a random 1 or 2 hours. The chances of getting a 1 hour lag verses 2 hour lag is 50%.

- Branch of Brambles: (Wood Stick) Casts perimeter wall 4 times, with 36 hour lag. It can be used clan wide, so it’s very helpful for those with poor defense or those being killed. The use of the branch requires 10 units of wood per acre of the target's land.

- Branch of the Mists: (Wood Stick)Casts 4 fog spells with 36 hour lag and a 90% base success rate.

- Cloak of Invisibility: (Garment) When equipped to a Rogue Class Character, it boosts Spy/Thief mission success rates by 50% when that character is used.

- Cosmic Star Map: (???) Reduces the cost of exploration by 20%.

- Demon’s Paw: (Dried Paw) Casts 4 Open-Gates (of a level 30 caster) with 48 hour lag and a 110% base success rate.

- Edge of Conquerers: (Blade) This Sword gives +30% attack and +30% defense for War Generals and Chieftans. It also provides a +10% land gain against players and +10% experience against players (for entire party attacking) and cuts defender SoR in half.

- Freya's Hut: (Leaning Hut) Acts as a bank, protecting up to 50% of your gold income from thieves.

- Golden Eye: (Eye) This automatically identifies who spies/robs you, every time. Even if they are successful it will say who did it.

- Hammer of the Gods: (Hammer) Casts one earthquake during wartime every 24 hours. Must be level 25 WG or Chieftan to equip, once equipped, it's +50% attack/+25% defense

- Harvest Wheel: (Stone Wheel) Boosts Farming production 20 or 50% each tick.

- Orb of Fire: (Smooth Rock) Casts 4 Firestorms with 24 hour lag and a 90% base success rate. You have a 1 in 3 chance at getting a Cataclysm Effect with this spell. That means that that one-third of the time, this spell will do triple damage. It will display as "Cataclysm" in the news!

- Poison Spike: (Needle) Casts 4 poison spells, of a level 20 caster with 36 hour lag and a 90% base success rate.

- Rod of Expansion: (Crystal Rod) It has 4 uses every 36 hours with which you can cast Expansion on anyone in your entire clan. It usually yields between 80-150 land each time, based on it's users highest level caster.

- Scrying Eye: (Eye) When used it allows you to scan the universe for monsters, telling you where monsters currently are or where they will be. It can be used once every 24 hours.

- Talisman of Change: (Talisman or Amulet) Changes 500,000 iron into 1,000,000 gold, or vice versa (1,000,000 gold into 500,000 iron).

- Titan’s Cornerstone: (Square Stone) It automatically (and permanently) adds +20% to your Empire's defense bonus.

- War Tome: (Book) This arkane book of warcraft will boost attack by 10%, defense by 5%, and population by 5% (closer barracks). Only two can be read per round and when it is read the book is returned to the artifact pool for re-distribution. If you've read 2, and you find a third, then that war tome will be out of play unless somebody steals it.

- Wheel of Time: (Stone Wheel) Automatically and permanently increases an Empires Speed bonus by 20%.
